MATERIALS

All my items are handcrafted to a very high standard, using only the best quality materials.

Fine Silver

My fine silver items are made using Precious Metal Clay (PMC). PMC is a relatively new material that resembles clay but it's made of fine silver particles and an organic binder. When fired the binder burns away and the silver particles fuse together to leave solid silver - which is 99.9% pure (it contains more silver than sterling which is 97.5% pure silver). Fine silver does not tarnish as quickly as sterling silver. It keeps it's shine for longer and has a cleaner brighter looking lustre. Items made from Precious Metal Clay can be hallmarked like any other precious metal.

I'm a certified PMC artist and a member of the PMC guild.

Hallmarking

I am a registered maker with the London Assay Office. It is against the law in the course of a trade or business to sell or describe precious metal articles in the UK that are un-hallmarked and above the weight exemptions. I hallmark all my items that are above the weight exemptions (expemptions: below 1.0g for gold, below 7.78g for silver and below 0.5g for platinum). See their Q&A page for more details.
